THE PROPAGANDA WAR
The Government and people like ASH have mounted a propaganda war against smokers.
Much, if not all, of the propaganda they use, is based entirely upon lies.
The real truth is that there is absolutely no proof whatsoever, that second hand smoke harms anyone around it.
This propaganda war is aimed not at anyone with any knowledge of the scientific facts behind these allegations, but at the general public.
If the Government can convince the general public that second hand smoke is harmful, then they can impose more taxes.
This ban isn't about health issues, it is simply about raising more money for the Government coffers through yet more taxes.
So how can we fight back? We have tried hitting them with the truth, but they will not listen to that.
We need to get the general public back on the side of truth and freedom, we need to mount a propaganda war of our own, to let the general public know what is really happening.
But, without the huge funding which the Government has behind it, how are we going to do this?
We need to get businesses behind us. Businesses who are affected by this ban, businesses like pubs, and bars, and clubs, and restaurants, and bingo halls.
These businesses are losing so much money since this ban came into effect, that many of them are having to close down altogether.
If we can get funding from these businesses, we can advertise in newspapers and possibly TV and radio.
We need to get the message out to the general public urgently.
In the meantime, however, we can all do something to help. Many people are already doing their bit by blogging and posting on the many websites like this which have been set up since the ban.
But, we need to do more than just preach to the already converted, we need to get out and reach the masses.
One way of doing this, which doesn't cost hardly any money at all, is to get posters put up wherever possible. Flyposting is illegal, so we are not actively encouraging this, but if anyone does want to take part in this activity, it just might prove rewarding until we do manage to secure our funding.
Below, you will see a few posters that have been mocked up. If anyone want to use any of them for whatever reason they want, then please feel free to copy them and use them. If anyone else has other such posters that might be of interest please contact us and we will upload them onto this site for you.
